It's always a good thing to begin a new Month with good news, so here goes ! I am delighted to be able to say that my new single, a song called Tomorrow, has been chosen for the RTE Radio One playlist for the week beginning Monday March the 5th. It's always a long journey from writing a song in the first place to recording a demo, trying it out at live performances and finally recording a version that passes the 'personal' test. That's only half the job, because you then have to try to get Radio DJs to want to play your song on the air, but this time 'round I am finding that I'm getting a very positive reaction. Then, that in itself is only half of the next job, because the end result we all hope for is that the listening public will share this positivity by liking the song enough to go out and buy it ! That, by the way, can be at your local record store. A good friend of mine, from whom I learned a lot about writing songs, compared the whole experience to that of raising a child. You can only do your your best with your song, or indeed with your child, then you have to 'let go', and hope that you have made your best effort possible. So, Bon Voyage, to Tomorrow, and thanks to everyone involved.
