Shannon Airport Gig, A Triumph in every way !
One thing that every working Musician has in common is that occasionally, at the very least, is the desire that a live show should contain all the ingredients required for a really satisfying experience fro all. By this I mean both Band and Audience. Last Friday night at Shannon Airport was one such experience for NTB, and to describe the occasion as a triumph is not just me blowing my own trumpet ..... Due credit must go to the team at Shannon who organised a great Stage with wonderful back-stage facilities, as well as an overall feeling of warmth and welcome that is all-too-often missing these days. Add to that a very well planned seating arrangement, and a superb Audience of what I can only describe as music lovers, and you have the perfect storm ! Clem and Dick and I played our hearts out, and were well rewarded by the enthusiastic welcome from this County Clare crowd. Add to that the fact that I spent at least an hour after our show shaking hands with people and signing CDs. Hopefully this is just the beginning of a new live series at the Airport. Sincere thanks to Mary and Niall and the whole team. Shannon Airport, long may you prosper ! Niall Toner and Band, December the 12th, 2010. PS.
