A Bit Negative, but a Bit Positive ...

I have to say that one of the gigs I was really looking forward to in January 2011 was our [almost] Annual appearance at John Murphy's Bluegrass/Roots mini-fest in Carrick -on-Bannow, Co.Wexford, on the 29th. I'm sorry to say that NTB have been cancelled for this particular date, and that's the negative part, but we will instead be included in the line-up for the Annual Phil Murphy Festival at the same venue in July 2011. The wonderful Colfer's Bar, run by John Murphy, himself a great Traditional Harmonica player, is the central venue for this event, which celebrates the memory and music of the late Phil Murphy. This year is also significant for us, as we mark the Centenary of the birth of Bill Monroe, [ B.1911 D.1996 ]and our programme on this occasion will reflect the debt we owe to Bill and his Bluegrass legacy.

It's also worth saying that John and his team at Colfers are super supporters of live music, and apart from running two Annual Festivals, they feature live Music at their venue throughout the year. We wish them well for 2011. Niall, January 18.
