There's something about being below the Mason-Dixon line that makes me feel great. It's probably a mixture of things, but among them would be the hospitality, the climate, although that element can vary, the people, the food and the music. In a very action-packed two weeks I drove a couple of thousand miles, did some amazing gigs in wonderful places, recorded tracks in Nashville, wrote songs and heard some great music at Merlefest in Wilkesboro. I also interviewed some of my own heroes, made plans with Mountain Music Entertainments CEO, Steve Johnson, for a major US tour in 2012, and had discussions with a major record label about a possible US release for all three NTB CDs, as well as a release date for the new NTB CD, William Smith Monroe. Highpoints would have to include my show at White Horse, Black Mountain and my show at the Creekside Diner in Jonesborough, Tennessee, as well as my experience of staying at the oldest house in town.[1820s] There were too many individuals to name, so let me say a sincere thanks to all, and here's to the next time!
