I recently had the honour of hosting an open interview at the John Field Room in the National Concert Hall in Dublin with the Legendary Paul Williams. Paul was just fantastic, and very generous with his time, spending about an hour after the show meeting and greeting almost everyone in the audience of about 250 songwriters and composers ! He also turned the tables a little on me, by doing his research, and singing my praises as a writer. [ Swelled head here !] Paul also very kindly followed up on that by leaving a very complimentary message on my guestbook page about a song I wrote with Clem O'Brien, which is on our first CD, called Ocean Of Teardrops. I have to say that it's a great boost when it comes from someone of Paul's stature in the songwriting world.
Speaking of songs, William Smith Monroe continues it's upward trajectory with major airplay on US Radio, and BBC in Britain, as well as being play listed here by RTE Radio One. Also great to see Hot Press taking notice of string band music !!! As I always say on my blogs, onwards and upwards.
