Back Home

There's no doubt about the fact that getting the opportunity to play my music for the people of the Southern Appalachians was both an honour and a great pleasure for me. Everywhere I sang my songs it was as though I had been there in a previous life ! Sounds a bit weird, well maybe so, but there you have it. I made many new friends and wrote a whole bunch of new songs. Just being in the Tri-State area prooved to be an inspiration in itself. Thanks to all the good folks who made my trip such a great success. Thanks also to Mark Gines who took this photo of me 'giving it my all' at the Visitors Centre at Jonesborough during the Historic Jonesborough Bluegrass Series.

Having said all that, It's great to be back home, and I am looking forward to playing at Mick Murphy's in Ballymore Eustace on Monday the 14th of November, our first time back there since working that fine venue with the late Larry Roddy. One of the tunes I will be playing on the night will be an instrumental composed in Larry's memory called Larry's Blues. On Saturday the 26th of November we get to play the Commercial Rowing Club in Islandbridge in Dublin, giving us a chance to meet our Dublin friends. This is a relatively new venture, and is well-deserving of your support. Niall, November 4 2011.
